Oh boy is this ever vintage

Livejournal, Blurty, or Xanga anyone? Cryptkeeper groans. I'm just testing this out — maybe blog stays, maybe blog goes. I've been off major social media platforms for a good while now (3 years maybe?) and maybe speaking into the void is decent triage for the outcomes of not being terribly connected, considering I also WFH. Setting an intention while I toy with the idea of keeping this bad boy or not sounds like a good idea either way. Ideally I will use this to keep track of thoughts or process I have in my art studio. I'm often thinking how I wish I could expel some of the internal jabber jaw I feel when I'm excited about a project. I've had my art studio for just over a year and a half now and to be perfectly honest I'm not sure how sustainable it is to keep up the rent. Brooklyn isn't cheap. The living sure looks like it, but it's a money suck, I tell ya. On the other side of that, reintroducing myself to an actual studio practice after a few years of needing to focus on incubating as a graphic designer to pay the bills has been wildly rewarding. I'm excited to gab about it, really. I made a promise to myself to never stop painting when I had to hone in on career plans and unfortunately I ended up taking a fairly hefty hiatus. Now that I've been back to the craft of painting for over a year I'd like to maybe revel in it by highlighting my experience between the two crafts of Art & Design. One certainly fuels the other creatively and they without a doubt inform each other in an unending list of ways. It's beautiful. For now I've established enough I think. Lets see what this looks like on the actual site. Thanks for reading if anyone does. I'm happy to share.
